The Lutheran Home is seeking a highly organized and dedicated Scheduler for Nursing Services to join our compassionate community.  This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the nursing staff schedules. You will collaborate with the nursing team and other departments to ensure adequate staffing levels, efficient use of resources, and smooth operations through our healthcare community.  Your attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities will be essential in helping us uphold our core values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Create and maintain accurate nursing staff schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Coordinate with nursing leadership to review staffing adjustments and make adjustments based upon census, acuity, and special requests.
  • Monitor time-off requests and ensure proper staffing is maintained during vacations, sick leaves, or other absences.
  • Communicate schedule changes effectively with nursing leadership to ensure any issues are promptly addressed.
  • Maintain accurate records of staffing hours, shift changes, and overtime to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with HR department to ensure that staffing records are up to date and that payroll information is accurate.

Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling / time keeping software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in scheduling in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Minimum age of 18
