Providence Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated PRN Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) to join our care team. In this as-needed role, you will provide hands-on, patient-centered care focused on comfort, dignity, and quality of life for patients at The Lutheran Home and in the community. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support daily care needs, observe and report changes in condition, and support personalized end-of-life care while embodying our core values of service, excellence, dignity, fulfillment, grace, and stewardship.

This is a PRN (as-needed) position. Hours will vary based on patient care and staffing needs.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assists with daily personal care functions
  • Assists with the feeding patients
  • Weigh patients using upright, chair and mechanical lift scale
  • Assists in turning and positioning
  • Transfer patients using proper body mechanics or lifting devices for accident prevention as indicated on the care plan
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment (cane, walkers, mechanical lifts, side rails, brace, splint, oxygen)
  • Helps keep patients rooms clean and supplied
  • Make/change beds (unoccupied and occupied)
  • Ambulate patients who require minimal assistance
  • Perform skin checks and notify the nurse of any abnormalities in skin integrity
  • Answer patients calls and take appropriate action
  • Communicates patients requests or concerns in a timely manner
  • Support end-of-life care needs as assigned

Requirements:
  • Minimum age of 18
  • Current Missouri CNA Certification
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • CPR certification required, or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of employment
