The Lutheran Home is looking for a full-time Salads and Dessert Cook to join our healthcare community and help whisk up delicious meals! In this role, you’ll ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of meals according to recipes and meal guidelines, assist with various kitchen duties, and help maintain cleanliness and order in the kitchen. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Prepare quality food in large quantities for regular and modified diets.
- Assist residents and families with placing orders on tablets or meal cards.
- Serve food in proper portions and an attractive manner.
- Monitor food temperatures.
- Fill in as the cook in the absence of the primary cook.
- Ensure food products are appropriately rotated, labeled, and dated.
- Shift to other positions and/or locations as necessary.
- Clean, sanitize and maintain kitchen work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in food preparation, especially large quantity cooking, is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to assist with various kitchen duties as needed.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality meals.
